Suitable for KitchenAid’s 4-1/2-quart and 5-quart stand mixers, this shield fits on the mixing bowl to prevent ingredients from splattering out when they’re added while the mixer operates. A chute for adding ingredients forms one side of the shield, which otherwise comprises a partial cap for the mixing bowl. The shield is made of rugged plastic and is dishwasher-safe. –Fred Brack

This attachment turns your KitchenAid stand mixer into a citrus juicer, eliminating the need for a second appliance that would take up valuable kitchen storage and counter space. Its four parts–heavy-duty aluminum shaft, reamer, shield, and strainer–are easy to assemble and attach to the stand mixer’s powerful motor. Turn the mixer speed to level 6, and the reamer maintains a fast and steady spin. Press your fruit halves against it, and the juice pours out. You do have to exert a bit of pressure to extract all of the juice, but it’s certainly not difficult to use.
