This blade was featured in Bon Appetit and I was so happy to have found it. It is essentially the beater blade with a ‘squeegie’ at the sides. It definitely does work, though make sure you don’t throw the package away before using it–as there are instructions on how to ‘fine tune’ the beater action.

This beater works exactly as it says. I have even used it when making Amish Friendship bread when it says not to use any metal while mixing. I slide my plastic mixing bowl under my KitchenAid mixer with the new beater blade. I have to hold the bowl but it is easier than beating by hand. When using the regular mixing bowl it really cleans the sides well. I think I will buy one for my daughter, too!
