 “Best Blender I’ve Ever Owned…” 2010-05-25
By Alana (so cal)
This is the first “nice” blender I’ve ever purchased and I’m very happy with it. We make shakes almost every morning and it whips it together (ice, frozen fruit, fresh fruit, you name it) in seconds. And it’s super easy to clean because the blade is built in to the bottom of the glass. I love it – highly recommended.

 “Great for the price” 2010-04-12

Basic and simple. This is all you need. Bought this one to replace a more expensive Kitchen Aid blender that just quit working.

 “A Great Blender” 2010-04-03
By alphalioness72 (SoCal, USA)
I absolutely love this blender. It does exactly what I hoped it would do when I ordered it. I use it mainly for meal replacement shakes blended with milk and ice cubes. This thing pulverizes ice cubes. I feed them in one or two at a time to spare the blades (as was necessary with my Kitchenaid blender) but even if they’re put in all at once, the Waring eats them up in less than 30 seconds. Despite the powerful motor that can send the ingredients pretty high up inside the jar, I’ve never had anything come flying out while I feed the ice through the top opening.

Other reviewers have said that the two-speed switch is all you need, and I completely agree. This blender also has a cool retro look. Even though our kitchen is not retro style, the blender just seems to fit in. The shape of the jar and lid reminds me a lot of the blender I grew up with as a kid and that appeals to me, also.

I particularly like the one-piece jar. Cleaning it is a snap. A cursory rinse, then throw in some water/soap and blend. I run it on Hi a few seconds to get the soap real sudsy. Then I shut it off until it settles and throw it back on Hi. This sends the soap all the way up into the lid. A few pulses, then I can rinse it and let it air dry. Takes no more than a minute. I haven’t had any problems with ingredients left down by the blades but I haven’t blended any solid chunks of food yet. I’m still willing to bet that it would wash completely clean, though.

The main reason I needed a new blender is because the feet on the rubber coupler of my Kitchenaid (2-3 yrs old) started breaking off. The blender hadn’t been used all that much until about a month ago, and four of the feet broke off inside of a week. The Waring also has rubber feet on its base coupler (to my initial disappointment). However, the jar coupler is much sturdier so that the feet are held in place a bit better as they turn. Secondly, there are guide posts on the base that hold the jar in place and which force the jar to be lifted off in a straight up/down fashion, thereby eliminating any twisting or pulling on the rubber feet that might cause them to break.

I’m sold on Waring. If the rest of their appliance line is anything like this blender, my kitchen’s going to be getting quite the makeover.

 “Sturdy, basic, quality” 2010-01-18
By Rob
I’ve had this blender for over a year, and it’s worked great so far. Much smoother blends than the blenders I’ve had before. The simplicity is very nice- two speeds is all you really need for soup, smoothies, and mixed drinks. The motor is great- I haven’t run it for more than a few minutes at a straight, or 15-20 minutes intermittently, but it never seems to strain or get that hot. It feels like it would happily run all day. My friends who have used it for mixed drinks want one now. My only negative is that the glass jar feels a little small for blending soups.

“Fell apart after little use” 2010-01-13
By Alissa L. Shoemaker (Indianapolis, IN)
We used this blender a handful of times and it broke very easily while blending squash soup. The squash was so soft that it fell apart with little effort. I only filled the blender up 1/2 way. There is no reason that it should have broken. I will never purchase this brand again. I highly recommend that you look elsewhere.
